Our Food Bank: How It Works and Why It Matters

At JCT Community Management CIC, we believe no one in our community should go hungry. That’s why we run a weekly food bank—a space not only for food support, but for connection, dignity, and solidarity.

Whether you’re facing a temporary challenge or need regular help to get by, our food bank is here for you.

How Our Food Bank Works

We operate every Saturday at Cromwell house, Battersea, and anyone in need is welcome. Here’s what to expect:

1. No referral needed – We believe in removing barriers to access. Just come in.

2. You’ll receive a food parcel with a mix of fresh produce, pantry staples, and toiletries (subject to donations).

3. Optional tea & chat corner – A space to have a warm drink, chat with a volunteer, or access further support.

Why We Do It

We know that food poverty is rising—but so is the strength of community. The mission behind our food bank is simple:

To ensure every person in our community has access to nutritious food, with dignity and without judgement.

We understand that anyone can struggle. From parents juggling bills to individuals on low or no income, the reasons vary—but the need is real. Our food bank is part of our wider commitment to support resilience, reduce stigma, and build a more compassionate local network.

 Powered by the Community

The food we distribute comes from:

• Local supermarkets & food redistribution charities

• Kind donations from individuals and businesses

• Our fundraising events and volunteers

Our volunteers are the heartbeat of the service—sorting food, making up parcels, delivering to homes, and offering a listening ear.

How You Can Help

If you’d like to support our food bank, here’s how:

• Donate food or essentials (especially toiletries, long-life milk, and canned goods)

• Give a few hours of your time as a volunteer

• Fundraise or sponsor a food parcel

Every contribution makes a difference.

The food bank isn’t just about feeding people—it’s about restoring hope, reducing loneliness, and ensuring that no one feels forgotten. If you or someone you know needs a helping hand, we’re here. And if you’re in a position to give, we’d love to welcome you on board.

Together, we’re building more than just food parcels—we’re building a stronger community.
